Knight Lab gears up for NICAR

On Wednesday the Knight Lab will head to Louisville for NICAR. It’s the biggest gathering of our tribe and we couldn’t be more excited. The schedule is stacked with sessions on everything from data visualization to basic Python programming to building news apps with Django.

A few Knight Lab staffers and faculty will add their insight to the mix at the following sessions:

Mobile + DataViz: Friends or Frenemies: Miranda Mulligan will talk about data visualizations on mobile platforms with Pete Karl II. 2 pm, Thursday, Regency North.

Philip Meyer Award Reception: Knight Lab is co-sponsoring the award reception. Stop by for awards, light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. 5:15 pm, Friday, Regency North.

How Can we get the Widest Impact out of Technology Projects? Knight Lab co-founders Larry Birnbaum and Rich Gordon will participate in a discussion with Ted Han on how to promote wider adoption of technology you’ve developed for a single use. 9 am, Saturday, Regency North.

We’ve got a big crew going — 11 staff, students, and professors. We’re of course hoping to learn a ton, but we’re just as excited to talk shop with folks from around the country. We’re a friendly group and any one of us would love to learn more about you and what you’re working on. Be sure to say hello!
